I. Project Overview

Building scale: total floor area 43646m², including 2 basement floors of 8375m² and 15 above-ground floors of 35271m² (podium of 5 floors, 2251m²; main building of 10 floors, 12760m²; the space between floors 4 and 5 is a technical floor, not counted in the building area).

The clean operating department is located on the fourth floor of the newly built inpatient complex building, with a floor area of 2515m². The operating department has a total of 18 clean operating rooms. It is currently under construction.

II. Plan Layout

The layout type of the clean operating department belongs to the peripheral recovery type. The design concept of this layout type is based on the notion of infection prevention, in which the handling of post-operative contaminated items is of the utmost importance. The design features of this layout scheme are:

(1) Medical staff and patients before and after operations, sterile instruments and corresponding auxiliary supplies enter and exit via the central clean corridor, while post-operative waste is promptly transported out via the peripheral corridor, thereby achieving the separation of clean and dirty flows;

(2) The operating department is provided with complete functional rooms; the operating area, office area and auxiliary area are distributed on the same level, which is convenient for management and easy to operate. The functional distribution of each area is clear, which is conducive to the control of clean and dirty flows.

(3) In terms of the decorative structure of the operating rooms, large arc transitions are adopted between wall and wall and between wall and ceiling, eliminating airflow dead zones and facilitating the organization of the clean airflow. The wall material is a metal material that does not rust itself, featuring a long service life and good electromagnetic shielding performance.

The clean operating department is arranged on the fourth floor, with a total of 18 operating rooms, including 2 Class I rooms, 9 Class II rooms and 7 Class III rooms (1 room is switchable between positive and negative pressure). The operating rooms are mainly arranged on the left side of the building. Auxiliary rooms, changing and shoe-changing rooms and office rooms are arranged on the right side of the building.

III. Air Conditioning and Purification System

(1) There are 2 Class I operating rooms, each equipped with one medical hygienic-type unit with air supplied through a static-pressure air supply device; among them, OP13 shares its unit with the Class 100000 extracorporeal circulation.

(2) There are 9 Class II operating rooms, each equipped with one medical hygienic-type purification air conditioning unit with air supplied through a static-pressure air supply device.

(3) Each Class III operating room is equipped with one medical hygienic-type purification air conditioning unit with air supplied through a static-pressure air supply device.

(4) There are 9 Class IV operating rooms, and two medical hygienic-type purification air conditioning units are used in total for the operating rooms. Among them, 4 operating rooms use one medical hygienic-type purification air conditioning unit, and the other 5 operating rooms use one medical hygienic-type purification air conditioning unit.

(5) The Class 100000 clean corridor and auxiliary rooms share one medical hygienic-type purification air conditioning unit.

(6) The Class 300000 cleaner corridor and auxiliary rooms share one medical hygienic-type purification air conditioning unit.

(7) Non-purified areas adopt the fan coil unit plus fresh air scheme.

(8) Four fresh air units are provided to supply fresh air centrally.

(9) An exhaust fan is independently provided for each operating room.

IV. Indoor Air Distribution

Class I–III operating rooms adopt centralized air supply outlets, with top supply and bottom return.

Class IV operating rooms adopt HEPA air supply outlets, with top supply and bottom return.

The clean corridor and clean auxiliary rooms adopt HEPA air supply outlets, with top supply and top return.

The cleaner corridor and auxiliary rooms adopt HEPA air supply outlets, with top supply and top return.
